“We don’t see things as they are; we see them as we are.” Anais Nin
As within, so without. Your experience of life doesn’t depend on what’s happening on the outside. It depends on what’s happening inside of you.
Have you ever noticed how when you’re in a great mood things flow effortlessly? Or when you’re in love everything looks rosy? Similarly when you’re not feeling good everything looks gloomy?
This is how two people walking down the exact same street can experience very different realities. One might sense danger, or notice suspicious looking people. Meanwhile, the other person might notice people smiling or a flower growing through the concrete.
Your dominant emotions, thoughts, and core beliefs about yourself and the world combine to form your state of being and perception, otherwise known as your level of consciousness.
In the same way that emotions have a specific vibration, your level of consciousness vibrates at a certain frequency, and this frequency determines not only the world that you see, but also your level of well-being. Your ability to discern the truth and make healthy decisions. Your ability to tap into your true intellectual and creative power, and the influence that you have over the world around you.
A renowned psychiatrist and spiritual teacher by the name of Dr. David Hawkins, M.D, Ph.D, spent over 30 years and worked with over 12,000 study participants to map out the levels of human consciousness. The following map summarizes his findings (for more detail click this link). To learn more information, we recommend his book Power vs. Force, and for a sense of the journey through each level of consciousness, you can read the book, “Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender”.
According to Dr David Hawkins, most people raise their vibration an average of 5 points in their lives. That said, we’ve helped people raise their vibration by hundreds of points so anything and everything is possible.
In a moment, you’re going to learn what to expect as you reach more and more expanded states of consciousness, but first there are a few things you need to know:
You’re already enlightened: Who you truly are is already calibrating at 1,000 (in fact, it’s way above that). What prevents you from embodying the higher levels are your inner blockages, your lifestyle and habits, and karma from your past. So, it’s not about gaining or becoming anything new - it’s about letting go of what you’re not and allowing more and more of your true nature to flow through.
This isn’t about becoming a ‘better person’: There is nothing wrong with you, and nothing about who you truly are needs to change. Lifting your consciousness doesn’t make you more worthy; it just opens you up to an expanded and clearer perception of the way things are.
This is the most selfless thing you can do. A lot of people want to help others and improve the world, but if you come from an unhealed and unconscious place, it might end up doing more harm than good to yourself and others. As you lift your vibe, you take more and more control over the well-being of the one person you can actually control: yourself! You’ll start to radiate positivity, and this will naturally lift up the people around you. And if you do feel called to invest in helping others, your influence will increase exponentially. One person vibrating at 500 (Love) counteracts the negativity of 750,000 people below 200, and someone at 700 balances the negativity of 70 million people. This is why Gandhi, who calibrated at 760, was able to overcome the British empire, calibrating at 190, without the use of force.
Now, if you’re drawn to this, chances are that you are already above the level of 200. The following are the levels of consciousness from 200 upwards, along with five pointers to the state of experience at each level.
200 - Courage:
You feel empowered, confident, and willing to ‘go all in’.
You have a go-getter mentality and feel motivated to take positive action.
You start to take responsibility for your circumstances, and come out of victimhood and blame.
You begin to have a genuine care and concern for others, and see their innate value beyond what they can do for you.
You start to prioritise long-term benefits over more short term gratification, and you become less impulsive.
250 - Neutrality:
At this level, you feel mostly free from the negativity and the constant problems and dilemmas that might have plagued you at lower levels.
You are able to enjoy your work without being so emotionally attached to the outcome, and without the feelings of doubt, worry, fear, and anxiety.
You become more poised and able to stay calm and respond appropriately in any situation.
You begin to recognise that happiness and a sense of worth come from within, and you’re less likely to seek approval, control, or security externally.
You have a basic trust in life, and you’re able to go with the flow. You feel that no matter what happens, you’re ok.
310 - Willingness:
At this level, you develop intrinsic, positive motivation. You feel inspired to participate in life, to help others, to contribute to society, and to improve yourself.
You embody the growth mindset, and you are an excellent learner. This is the energy that propels you into higher and higher levels of consciousness.
Success comes easily, effortlessly, and in flow. The world seems friendly to you, and good things naturally come your way.
You have high self-esteem. You are confident and optimistic about the future. You naturally assume positive outcomes and stay cheerful and resilient in the face of obstacles.
You’re able to give without expecting something in return, and to receive feeling guilt or indebtedness. You build thriving relationships based on generosity and mutual support.
350 - Acceptance:
This is the level of true forgiveness and mercy. You’re able to recognise the innocence of all people, and you understand that everyone is doing the best they can from their understanding.
You develop your discernment of what is in the highest interest and what is not, and at the same time you drop the tendency to judge, condemn, criticise, and belittle. This gives you enormous peace of mind as well as greater clarity and capacity to create positive change.
You find a harmonious balance between work and leisure, action and rest, and in all areas of your life.
You own your reality. You know, at this level, that you are the source and creator of your experiences, and so you are likely to have a greater interest in expanding your consciousness and exploring your spirituality.
You become better at setting healthy boundaries for yourself, from a place of love and compassion.
400 - Reason:
At this level, the mind is free from emotionality and ego, and able to do what it does best.
You have a greater capacity for abstract thought and handling large, complex amounts of data to make rapid and correct decisions.
“This is the level of Nobel Prize winners, great statesmen, and Supreme Court Justices. Einstein, Freud, and many other great thinkers of history also calibrate here.” (Dr. Hawkins, Power vs. Force)
You’re motivated by curiosity, interest, and a passion for exploration.
You discern the truth based on objective, verifiable facts, rather than distorting the truth to serve an emotionalised or egoic agenda.
500 - Love:
At this level, love is felt not just as an emotion, but as a state of being, as the principle that guides your thought and behaviour.
You feel appreciation, affection, warmth, gratitude, reverence.
You radiate sweetness, and you are generous and nurturing. This doesn’t feel like it comes from you, as in Willingness. Rather, it flows through you from something greater.
You feel happy for no apparent reason, and you feel good in your body.
You become more attuned to the flow of life and guided by synchronicities.
540 - Joy:
You feel serenity, a sense of completion, fulfilment, wonder, and ecstasy.
You see the innate divinity in all things.
You’re capable of sticking to a vision or goal for long periods of time.
You have the capacity for enormous patience, persistence, and positivity regardless of the challenges being faced.
You feel a full connection to who you truly are.
600 - Peace:
Everything is seen as perfect and complete. There is oneness and total freedom.
You experience bliss, tranquility, timelessness, stillness, and an infinite silence of the mind.
Life seems to unfold in slow motion, perfectly synchronised.
Manifesting happens at a much faster rate, even instantaneously.
You naturally radiate inspiration and compassion. Others are moved and uplifted by your presence.
From the level 700 upwards, the experience is ineffable, as in, too great to be described in words. You realise your Self as the Divine, as consciousness, as the intelligence that is everywhere all at once.
Dr. Wayne Dyer said, “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” There is nothing to change but Self and this is the only thing worth changing. It can be challenging to realise the truth and depth of this statement, yet it is very worthwhile as the implications this can have on your life experience are massive.
Some say that the purpose of life is evolution. Everything is in the process of evolution. There are different ways to expand your level of consciousness. It can happen through pain, loss, a health crisis etc or it can happen through lessons.
How can you change? You can choose to explore lessons rather than wait for a painful experience or lessons to present themselves. There are a few simple tested approaches and ways to position yourself for this evolution.
You have to be introspective and honest with yourself.
Believe you can do it and understand you have the power to do it.
Accept where you’re at.
Be ready to let go of your story.
Stop distracting yourself.
Come out of blame and guilt.
Learn to release your emotions.
De-identify and craft a new identity.
These cover a wide range of personal development tools and there are some ways to expedite this process of liberation and growth
Personal growth is an inside out job. For thousands of years humans have been drawn to personal evolution. There are a few well known examples of souls who have managed to reach the pinnacle of personal evolution such as Jesus, or Buddah yet there are many who have achieved great growth, levels of peace, inner joy, bliss and an understanding of the nature of the Universe and their role within.
You can choose to get scientific about this, and there are varying opinions within the scientific community on this topic. While the scientific community values empirical evidence and rigorous methodology which to date has yet to be widely agreed upon, there is a growing recognition that the scientific method may not be the only way of understanding the nature of reality. There is a growing interest in finding ways to integrate the fields of science and spirituality in a mutually beneficial way.
The question you get to ask yourself is ‘do I want to take the red pill?’
What are your thoughts on the intersection between science and spirituality? Do you need scientific evidence or are you able to start your personal evolution before the scientists provide empirical evidence?
